How to Get to Sagrada Família
Sagrada Família is in Barcelona’s Eixample and has two Metro stations on different sides of the basilica. Sagrada Família station is the simplest arrival for most visitors, but entrance queues and timed tickets make the exact street approach important.

Metro lines L2 and L5; the closest station, with exits around the basilica and busy surrounding pavements.
Metro lines L4 and L5; a longer walk that can help when the closest station is crowded.
Metro line L5; useful for a quieter walk past the Hospital de Sant Pau.
Best ways to arrive
From Sagrada Família station
Follow signs for the appropriate façade and ticket entrance. The Nativity and Passion sides are on different streets, so check your booking before exiting.
From Verdaguer
Walk south along Avinguda Gaudí or use the signed Eixample streets. This route is straightforward but can be busy around school and tour times.
From the airport or centre
Connect to Metro L5 or change at a central interchange after checking current TMB service. Build in time for the timed entrance queue.
Practical visitor advice
- Buy tickets only through the official basilica channels and check the entry time, façade, tower option and identification requirements.
- The basilica is an active place of worship: clothing, photography and security rules apply and may be updated.
- Step-free access is available for many visitor areas, but tower access and some routes have restrictions; confirm current accessibility guidance.
- Metro lifts and entrances can be temporarily closed. TMB updates and the basilica’s visitor instructions are more reliable than an old map screenshot.
