1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “user”) and CityNav (“we”, “us”, “our”) regarding your use of the CityNav web application, mobile application and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. The Service

CityNav is a tourist-focused navigation product that provides walking, driving and transit directions, points-of-interest discovery, an AI tourist guide, an SOS emergency-alert feature, AR walking navigation, virtual passport stamps, saved routes and saved places, and offline transit data for 28 major cities worldwide.

CityNav relies on third-party data providers (including Google Maps, Google Places and Twilio for SMS). The accuracy, availability and timeliness of routing, points of interest and arrival estimates are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.

3. Your Account

You can browse the public parts of CityNav (such as the home page, city landing pages and this Terms page) without an account. To save routes and places, earn passport stamps, share live location, or subscribe to Premium, you must sign in via Replit OAuth.

You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@citynav.app if you suspect any unauthorised access. You may delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from the Account → Settings page.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Walking and driving navigation are free to use without an account or subscription. Premium features — including AR walking navigation, real-time public transit routing and the SOS emergency feature — require a paid subscription.

Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Available plans are:

The monthly subscription renews automatically on the same day each month using the payment method on file. You can cancel at any time from your Account → Subscription page or via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Premium access until that date.

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable VAT where required by law.

6. Refund Policy

Single-payment passes (1-day, 3-day, 7-day) are non-refundable once activated, except where required by mandatory consumer law in your jurisdiction.

For monthly subscriptions, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, provided you have not actively used Premium features during that period. Subsequent monthly renewals are non-refundable but you can cancel at any time to prevent future charges.

To request a refund, email billing@citynav.app with your account email and the date of payment.

7. Intellectual Property

The CityNav name, logo, app design, source code, database compilations, written content and all related materials are the intellectual property of CityNav or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Map data is provided by Google Maps and is subject to Google’s separate terms.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

8. Third-Party Services

CityNav integrates with the following third parties, each of which has its own terms and privacy policies:

We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties. Your use of their services is governed by their respective agreements.

9. Disclaimers & Safety

CityNav is a navigation aid, not an emergency service. The SOS feature sends an SMS to a contact you have configured, but it does not dispatch police, ambulance or fire services. In a genuine emergency, always dial your local emergency number first (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US, etc.).

Routing, ETA estimates and transit information are provided on a best-effort basis using third-party data and may be inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. You are responsible for following actual road signs, traffic signals and local regulations. Do not rely on the Service for time-critical, safety-critical or commercial decisions.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except as required by mandatory law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CityNav shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) £50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from the Account → Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we reasonably believe to be harmful to other users, our partners or the integrity of the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, except that consumers resident in the EU may also bring proceedings in their country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made. For material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will notify signed-in users by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those updated Terms.
