Editorial Policy

What we publish

Our editorial coverage focuses on questions a visitor must answer before or during a city journey: which transport modes are available, how tickets work, how to reach the city from an airport, what accessibility or luggage constraints to expect, and where to find official help in an emergency.

A guide must provide a distinct traveller use case, specific local facts and enough context for a reader to make a decision. We do not create a page simply because a search phrase exists. Overlapping pages are consolidated into the strongest relevant guide.

Sources and research

CityNav researchers compare information against primary sources wherever possible. Depending on the topic, these include official transport operators, airport authorities, national or city government services, emergency services, embassies and published fare or timetable material.

Guide pages identify their review date and relevant source organisations. We include links to official operators where those links help readers check current details. Our team also uses the CityNav product to test journey-planning and offline-navigation workflows; product testing is not treated as a substitute for an official source on fares, laws, emergency numbers or schedules.

Review dates and changing information

Fares, timetables, routes, entry requirements and local rules can change without notice. A page’s “last reviewed” or “last verified” date shows when our team most recently checked the guide against the sources named on that page.

Prices and journey times are presented as estimates when traffic, service conditions or ticket choice can affect them. Pages that do not meet our current completeness and recency checks are excluded from search indexing until they are brought up to standard. Older URLs that duplicate a stronger guide are permanently redirected to the authoritative page.

Corrections

Readers, transport operators and public bodies can report a possible error by emailing support@citynav.app. Please include the page URL, the detail that may be wrong and, when available, an official source.

We verify material corrections before publication. A guide’s review date is updated when its important factual content has been substantively rechecked, not for a spelling or formatting change. Our corrections contact section provides the same reporting path.

Editorial independence and commercial content

CityNav’s travel guides are written to answer the reader’s question, not to maximise product promotion. No transport operator, airport or public authority pays for inclusion or ranking in our guides. CityNav may separately promote its own navigation app or paid features, but commercial calls to action do not change our factual conclusions or source selection.

If advertising is displayed on CityNav, advertisers do not review, approve or influence editorial content. Any future sponsored or affiliate relationship will be clearly labelled near the relevant content.

Software assistance and responsibility

Software tools may assist with organising research, checking format consistency or identifying information that needs review. CityNav remains responsible for what it publishes. Time-sensitive or safety-related facts must be checked against an appropriate primary source before they are treated as verified.
